A British motor racing boss Robin Mortimer has died allegedly after taking part in an intense femdom session at a villa near Brecht, Belgium. Mortimer is believed to have collapsed in the shower after a meeting with two dominatrixes in a dungeon. Such deaths are very rare in the BDSM world and most people (without serious underlying health problems) remain at more risk of death just getting out of a bath in their own homes. Despite it a 46-year-old dominatrix known as Mistress Lucrezia and her assistant Mistress Juno, 37, have been arrested. They are suspected of assault and battery leading to death, without intent to kill.

Robin Peter Mortimer, 58, from Coventry, Warwickshire, was founder of RPM Motorsport, a British touring car team, and leaves behind wife Bridget and motor racing driver son Alex. Robin Mortimer is the son of grand prix driver Charles Mortimer. He had made many motorcycle Grand Prix appearances in a 35-year career as a rider before switching to sports car racing in 1989. His son Alex, a BT British Championship winner, hopes to compete in the International GT Open taking place at Belgium’s Spa-Francorchamps. It was no surprise that Robin Mortimer’s wife was unaware of his passion for BDSM, as few men have the courage to reveal their fantasies with their wives or girlfriends.

Mistress Lucrezia, whose real name was given only as Ira V.D., had been working from a dungeon in a detached house in the quiet Belgian village of Sint-Job-in-’t-Goor for five years, neighbours said. A female neighbour told Belgium’s Het Nieuwsblad newspaper: “This is a quiet street where families live. But after her arrival here there were suddenly all these expensive cars arriving, many with foreign license plates. I finally complained to the police after scantily-clad people were turning up on my doorstep because they had got the wrong house. But we reached our limit when she started holding sado-masochistic session in her garden. My children could not play outside and my four-year-old daughter saw things she should never have seen.”

Mistress Lucrezia has a website on which she claims to consider herself a “creative artist, perverted sadist“. She is a regular visitor to British bondage clubs, where she is thought to have met Mr Mortimer. Her website says she has “performed” at Club Rub and Club Subversion in London, and also holds sessions at a studio described as Mistress Katya’s in Warwickshire. She says she offers “bondage, humiliation, torture, education and cross-dressing”. Mistress Lucrezia’s website says he specializes in medical, femdom, and rubber play. She provides joint sessions with slave girls and other professional doms, which may be why she was working with Mistress Juno at the time. Her website also says: “Sessions can last from one hour, and even up to three days. I specialise in extreme medical and long sessions. Beware, I am not a softie. I’m sadistic, intelligent and perverse. In my nature, I’m a sadist of the worst kind.”

Police received a call from Mistress Lucrezia who told them a client had collapsed in the shower. Investigators believe while Mr Mortimer racing team’s convoy went on ahead, he made a detour alone for the sadomasochistic sex session. Belgian newspapers reported that Mr Mortimer had paid £600 for the session to be punished by the two leather-clad women in their medieval style dungeon.

Detectives who searched the property say they found “some of the most extreme sadomasochistic equipment they had ever come across”. This included a vacuum machine for wrapping clients in airtight cling film. Prosecutors say that Mr Mortimer’s death may have been linked to nitrous oxide used as an anaesthetic to prolong BDSM session administered by the women.

One can certainly question the wisdom of such professional dominatrix as Mistress Lucrezia in allowing a 58 year-old man to receive such extreme pain, and using nitrous oxide. But don’t forget that in fact a dominatrix will provide a safe word for the customer to use when the limit has been reached. Anyhow the results of a post-mortem examination are expected to shed light on how this respected man died. These results of a full autopsy on the body will be known within the coming days.

A BDSM film studio was raided in Hungary by the police after a model complained that her treatment went further than she had consented. Three people were arrested in Ujpest (a neighbourhood not far from central Budapest). We don’t know the name of the studio, but both websites of Hungarian studios Mood Pictures and Elite Pain appear to be offline at the same time.

The Mood Pictures BDSM Studio produces a very special video releases for those who like whipping and spanking. Later they tied her to a bench and to an iron pipe. Model found that the pain was greater than she wished to experience. A sign had previously agreed and they had promised that if she said the word they would stop the beating. However, she begged in vain, the producer took over thrashing her and the woman was beaten until she was bleeding.

After the incident, the woman wrote an anonymous letter to the police, who then took commandos to the location and raided the set night during filming. The raid was a success as a result of the strong police action because the studio was protected by strong security. Several people were taken away, in all three men were suspected of violations of personal freedom and causing bodily harm.

Police seized 14 terabytes worth of video on a server. According to the police, many of the videos shot in the studio recorded long-drawn-out brutal beatings. In the studio there was also a room fitted out like a hospital pharmacy, with medicines and painkillers. In that place thee was an orderly of the medical ambulance service whose job it was to provide first aid. They questioned him as the sole witness. Among the persons injured in the BDSM film shoot up to now there were five well-known women who had also reported the matter to the police, but the police were still looking for more persons who had been injured.

This year’s edition opens with Kinky (screening at 7 p.m.), a documentary set in the all-too-rarely explored world of African-American BDSM. The album “Liebe ist Fur Alle Da” (“Love is For All”) by German teutonic metal group Rammstein has been banned from public display in German stores with effect from November 11. German fans under 18 of home grown hard rock group Rammstein had until midnight on Tuesday to buy their latest album. This album can no longer be “publicly displayed” in German shops. The German Federal Office for the Examination of Media Harmful to Young People in Bonn has banned the album because of its depictions of sadism and masochism. Officials were offended by the song “Ich tue Dir Weh” (“I Want to Hurt You”), which includes such lines in German like “Bites, kicks, heavy blows, nails, pincers, blunt saws – Tell me what you want” and such phrases as “Barbed wire in the urethral tract” and “Needle, pliers, blunt saw. Make a wish, I won’t say no”. The chorus runs: “Ich tu’ dir weh. Tut mir nicht Leid! Das tut dir gut. Hohr wie es schreit!” (“I Am Going To Hurt You”, I’m not sorry! It does you good, Hear the screams!”).

Germany’s media watchdog also disapproved of the artwork in the booklet accompanying the album. Officials were offended as well by the cover showing guitarist Richard Kruspe with a masked, naked woman on his knees. The office also doesn’t like the single “Pussy“, which they reckon will lead to an increase in the number of AIDS cases, because it encourages unprotected sex. The video for “Pussy” has also caused some commotion as it shows what appear to be members of the band participating in sex scenes, although sources close to the band insist that the band members were doubled.

The album, “Liebe ist Fuer Alle Da” has been a big seller globally since its release (October 10) a month ago via Universal Music. It hit No. 1 in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Denmark, the Czech Republic, Finland and the Netherlands on sales of over 300,000 units, going platinum in the process. It made No. 2 in France, and No. 3 in Sweden and Belgium. In the United States it entered the Billboard charts at No. 13, a record for the band. It made No. 16 in the UK on October 25.

“The ruling will be officially published on Wednesday,” said Petra Meier, the deputy president of the Federal Office for the Examination of Media Harmful to Young People. “Up until then, the album may continue to be retailed. The decision was made in accordance with Section 18 of the Youth Protection Act.” According to the statistics of the office, 131 albums had been placed on the restricted list in 2007 and 116 last year, while as many as 966 have been put on the list so far this year. She attributes this sharp increase to the fact that more and more records are being released with content which glorifies violence or is of a racist or pornographic nature, thus breaching the provisions of the German Youth Protection Act. This is the first time that an album by Rammstein has been placed on the restricted list.

Rammstein have a long tradition of trying to wind up the sensitive of mind with provocative, yet ultimately a bit daft, artwork and lyrics. Since launching in Berlin in 1995, Rammstein have courted controversy with their eight albums, which have touched on such subjects as sadomasochism, homosexuality, incest, abuse, necrophilia, pyromania, cannibalism and sexual violence. The cover of “Liebe ist Fuer Alle Da” shows the band stood around a naked lady lying in repose and surrounded by fruits of the fields and woods, giving an erotic cannibal sort of vibe. The band did a song about Armin Meiwes, a German man dubbed the “cannibal of Rotenburg” jailed in 2006 for killing and eating a willing victim. Both men tried to eat the dead man’s dismembered penis before he expired.

Rammstein happily court controversy, and with their new album they haven’t changed their tune so much as played it louder than usual. The album’s cover – a painting featuring the band eating the flesh of a naked woman – isn’t worse than many other heavy-metal album covers, nor do their lyrics break new ground in hard-rock horror.

Joerg Jaeger of the Pressezentrum retail store in Luebeck did not think that the ban would have much effect. “The album will sell even better than before,” he said. “We are not taking the album out of stock. From Wednesday, we will be selling it under the counter and will require customers to produce proof of their age. All it means is that the 18-year-old will buy it for his younger sister.”

Webster Simmons is suspected of binding and gagging the 34-year-old woman and sodomizing her after drugging her drink while at a club earlier Saturday morning, according to the sheriff’s office. District Court Judge John Steensland appointed Dothan attorney Valerie Judah to represent Webster Delenn Simmons on the first-degree rape and first-degree sodomy charges filed against him after a woman who was with Simmons at a nightclub told police she woke up early Saturday morning, handcuffed with a ball gag in her mouth. The victim went with Simmons to a bar on Friday night, Houston County Sheriff Andy Hughes said. The victim bought every drink but her last, which Simmons bought. Hughes said authorities suspect Simmons drugged the victim’s drink, but have not recovered any drugs. The victim claims she woke up during the rape, was handcuffed and had a gag in her mouth.

Authorities believe the incident happened early Saturday after Simmons and the victim went to a bar. They say Simmons drugged his victim at a local bar, used bondage to subdue her, and then raped her in his truck. Hughes said Simmons was in possession of his full police uniform, gun belt and police hand cuffs at the time of his arrest. But detectives believe only his handcuffs were used during the sexual assault.

After executing a search warrant, authorities found two pair of handcuffs, a ball gag, a thick white rope, an unknown power source with wires attached to a nail, a whip and flog, and what looked like medical tubing and other sexual bondage items in Simmons’ car.

Houston County Sheriff Andy Hughes said Simmons had apparently been in the Dothan area last weekend visiting relatives. Hughes said their investigation showed Simmons is a Cottonwood native, joined the military and apparently later joined a North Carolina law enforcement agency. Simmons apparently told detectives he’d formally worked for the Raleigh, N.C., police department before his more recent job at Duke University.

Simmons told Steensland during his first appearance in court that he could not afford to hire an attorney to defend him in court on the charges. Duke University Police Chief John Dailey said through an e-mail to the Dothan Eagle that Simmons had not been terminated from his job as a Duke University police officer, but had been placed on a paid suspension.

Simmons, of Rougemont, N.C, remains held at the Houston County Jail in Alabama on a $120,000 bond.

Marcus had a BDSM-themed website in the late 1990s which featured photos of women who were his “slaves” undergoing various levels of physical abuse. He met a woman who court documents just call “Jodi”, and she agreed to be on the website. At this point, two stories diverge. Jodi claims Marcus took the relationship too far — that he forced her to do things she didn’t want to do and then write about them for the site. She couldn’t escape, and was effectively a slave in real life, although she started out only portraying one on a website. Marcus, on the other hand, claims that everything was consensual and part of Jodi’s employment contract. Apparently, even the parts where he carved the word “slave” into her stomach with a knife, shaved her head, and whipped her brutally were part of her contract.

At issue was whether Marcus took the relationship too far and held Jodi against her wishes. Prosecutors claim he manipulated and forced the woman to undergo the punishment, then write about it for the Web site. The incidents took place at various locations between 1999 and 2001. Attorneys for Marcus said the relationship was consensual, even enjoyable, and that Jodi had signed an employment contract and was provided for through the for-profit Web site, which had paying members and advertising. They also said that while the public may find the details unsettling, it was done in the privacy of homes.

The woman testified she felt like a prisoner and she could not escape her situation. Her head was shaved and the word “slave” was written on her stomach by Marcus with a knife. She claimed she was whipped regularly, hung by her arms from posts, and subjected to a range of humiliating poses. The appellate court concluded that Jodi never benefited financially, since Marcus had kept profits from the Web site. Other women along the East Coast also were involved in Marcus’ master-slave business.

The BDSM connection will only confuse the understanding of sex trafficking. Human trafficking and BDSM are not really connected. Sex trafficking is not about the sort of activities which take place between the victim and perpetrator, but rather the victim’s consent to the situation and ability to get out of it. The presence of S&M will bring the court’s focus on the wrong set of issues. It is dangerous to set a wrong legal precedent in this case.

The Power Exchange, run by eccentric former mayoral candidate Mike Powers, has been in the news a lot lately. After more than a decade operating quietly on Otis, the club was hooted down by neighbors when it attempted to relocate to Gough, and more recently opened up shop in the Tenderloin — only to be shut down for fire-code violations on Sept. 11. The club’s troubles have caused an outcry from public-sex enthusiasts, who see Powers’ travails as evidence that prudery is on the rise in self-consciously sex-positive San Francisco.

While Nevraumont, 32, may remain positive about sex, she’s no longer positive about the Power Exchange. She’s now suing the club for a hefty — and perhaps crushing — sum.

Her lawyer, Michael Solomon, says her medical bills for jaw and dental surgery following the accident ran to more than $70,000. Adding in damages for pain and suffering, he estimates that his client will seek a sum in the realm of $500,000. “Legally, it’s not much different from slipping and falling at Safeway,” he said.

“Getting an expert witness for this case will be interesting,” he added.

Powers told SF Weekly that legal success for his erstwhile patron would put him in a bad spot, but insists that he’ll try to keep his business open, regardless of the suit’s outcome. “She wants a lot of money out of me that I don’t have and probably won’t have in my lifetime,” he acknowledged. He denied responsibility for the accident, saying Nevraumont’s partner had been warned repeatedly not to use the faulty ceiling bolt.

For the time being, Power Exchange remains closed while trying to resolve permit issues at its new Mason Street location. Despite the sex club’s clouded future, Powers is optimistic, noting that he still has the support of many in BDSM circles. “They love me or they hate me,” he said. “They either want to get a rope and string me up, or they say, ‘Hey, get over here, and I’ll get a rope and string you up.’”

Sharon Warner claims David Jones, head of the English department, asked her to investigate whether allegations about professor Lisa D. Chavez’s sex-themed Web sites were true.

Warner says she checked out various Web sites and verified that Chavez and two graduate students were phone-sex workers for various sadomasochistic and bondage Web sites, including peplove.com. Photographs showed Chavez and the students “portraying various S&M sexual activities,” the lawsuit states.

Warner claims a third student, a former graduate student, was no longer involved in the phone-sex operation, but her image still appeared in short films “featuring nudity.”

Warner says she told Jones that Chavez’s participation on the Web sites made her uncomfortable and placed her students in potentially compromising relationships with Chavez.

Other graduate students allegedly told Warner that Chavez threw parties at her house, regularly belittled other faculty members, and urged students to accompany her to “live-sex shows.”

The former grad student who quit her job as a phone-sex worker said Chavez ridiculed her in class and dropped her as a dissertation advisee, Warner claims.

When Warner repeated the allegations to Jones, she says he admonished her — “literally banging on his desk” — not to file a complaint with the university’s Office of Equal Opportunity.

University President David Schmidly eventually hired an outside attorney to investigate the situation. The lawyer interviewed 16 students, faculty and staff, and Warner, who says she was surprised to learn that the investigation had flipped on her.

“The investigation focused on Professor Chavez’s allegations against Plaintiff and whether Plaintiff discriminated against Professor Chavez on the basis of her ethnicity and sexual orientation,” the lawsuit states.

Warner says Chavez falsely insisted that Warner had fabricated the photos of Chavez and the students, ostensibly as part of a retaliation scheme.

However, Warner kept pressing for an investigation of the complaints against Chavez, but the university allegedly failed to act.

She claims she faced several forms of retaliation, including being denied the chance to chair the English department, having to resign her directorship of the writing program and having the university audit the summer writing conference she founded.

She wants the university to pay damages for breach of contract, bad faith and violation of the New Mexico Human Rights Amendment.
